Comparison of the performance of PTFE sheet and nylon sheet

PTFE sheet is made of PTFE as the main raw material, processed by adding special substances, with excellent chemical stability, corrosion resistance, sealing, high smoothness and non-stickiness, electrical insulation and outstanding anti-aging resistance. And nylon plate is the most important engineering plastics. Its wear resistance and tensile strength are better. In this paper, from the friction performance, corrosion resistance, and temperature resistance performance comparison of nylon and PTFE board.

Friction performance: Nylon plate has good wear resistance, with a coefficient of friction typically ranging from 0.1 to 0.3, about 1/4 of phenolic plastic and 1/3 of pasteurized alloy, making it a self-lubricating material. PTFE matting has a very low friction coefficient, with significant deformation under force.

Corrosion resistance: Nylon plate is not affected by weak alkalis, alcohols, esters, copper, and hydrocarbon grease. PTFE board is inert to most chemicals and solvents, resistant to strong acids, strong bases, and boiling water, except for molten sodium and liquid fluorine. It can be used as engineering plastics and can be made into PTFE tubes, rods, belts, plates, films, etc. Typically used in high-demand applications for corrosion-resistant pipes, containers, pumps, valves, radar, high-frequency communication devices, and radio devices.

Temperature resistance: it can maintain a certain mechanical strength at -60 ℃, heat-resistant temperature of 80-100 ℃. Polytetrafluoroethylene can be in +250 ℃ to - 180 ℃ temperature for a long time.

PTFE plate is better than nylon plate in terms of corrosion resistance and high temperature resistance. The abrasion resistance of nylon sheet is better than PTFE sheet.
